Simple, Clear, and Mysterious

The 78 Tarot is a local event happening in Muncie, Indiana at Majax, June 22, 2022, starting at 8:00 pm–1:00 am. Participants can learn more about the realm of tarot through a personal card reading, analysis of the cards with discussions and groups, doing their own reading for themselves or others, and/ or exploring the merchandise.
Design Process
My preliminary work consists of logo sketches, logo name iterations, poster mockups, site mapping, and wireframe designs.
Logo and Assets

The concept is the reference to tarot itself, since there are 78 cards in a deck. There are different tarot card styles and themes, but there is always 78 cards. 78 is more universal and not pulling a specific card or “most recognizable” one. This allows the viewer to think about when they hear “tarot” and the card(s) associated with it.
I chose the font ED Morrigan, which is a blackletter typeface in the title of my logo and headings. I thought this complemented nicely with the history of tarot and how some decks are stylized, especially the Rider Waite deck. In addition, I chose the font Hero New, a sans serif typeface in the description of the logo and body copy.
Promotional Content

I wanted my phone and desktop drawings for the social media content to match my visual language of the mono line drawings.
In addition to the poster mockups to fit the environmental setting of Downtown Muncie, along a brick mural, which the advertisement would be placed if this event were to be held.
Website Navigation

From rough sketches of logos, to a final website created in Figma, presented is the website navigation for 78 Tarot.
